It's 30 degrees. The cats are cranky and we're all melting.

August 2nd:
Yeah, the Catholic church should let women be priests already. What's the big deal? I always wanted to be one (before I learned all the rules), and I was never interested in being a nun. It think it's about time for this change.

July 31st:
Cooler than the Generation Girls and yes, even groovier than the Groovy Girls... Feral Cheryl! I'm not making this up and I want one.. erm, for my kid of course, sooo bad. Although some of my daughter's Barbies do kinda look like her (after various alterations), I still think we need her.

July 30th
Oh yeah, I forgot to share the bad news. Early one morning the whole family is sitting at the McDonald's in Rawlins, Wyoming. We'd just spent the night before camping in Seminoe State Park and it was beyond beautiful. (Go look!)

I'm happily munching on my cheese and egg bagel when Brian reads out of the paper:

"Dominik Hasek was acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres for veteran left wing..."

"DON'T!" I shouted it so loudly that everyone in the place stared and saw me rip the paper out of his hands.

Words can't express what I'm feeling. I want him to win the cup, and yeah, the Redwings will have a good chance. But but but.. I love the Sabres! I want the Sabres to win the cup. (Oh god, what if the Sabres and Redwings get to the finals?)

How dare the city of Buffalo get rid of both Dominik and Doug Flutie in the same year?! I'm writing to the mayor.

In good news, Gina(cide)'s Freak Magnet column is up at Googleplex. Yay!

July 28th:
Back from a 28 day, 13 state, four province and two country road-trip. I am beat. Wiped out. Tired. Jet-lagged. Etc.

Wildlife spotted:
Black bear (!), a group of skunks, coyotes, (heard) wolves, porcupines, prairie dogs, antelope, deer, lots of different birds and fish, and a bunch of Hells Angels tormenting Thunder Bay's Finest.
